State Conferences, Etc.
Hello Canadians! If you are one of the great people who attended the Soundscapes 2014 conference in London, Ontario and you're looking for the handouts and/or slides from the sessions, here they are. Well, three of the five: the keynote speech, the handout from the first session (Lego, things to do with a pen, etc.), and the slides and narrative from that session. To find the materials for the second session (crazy map, ensemble videos) click on the clinics/CBDNA tab above and look for the Ithaca 2014 materials. You'll see a video podcast version of the presentation and the handout. Enjoy.
This session was designed for the Wisconsin Music Educators Association Conference in 2012. It uses foundational material from earlier sessions and offers practical advice for how to apply it in rehearsals. It is intended for practicing music educators. Here's a video podcast version. For those familiar with the graphic sequence shown on the thumbnail, in the most current version boats have been replaced by bees to keep an all-organic flow.
Shortly after the presentation in Wisconsin I headed for London, Ontario to do a workshop with the music education undergraduates at the University of Western Ontario. It takes the material from the WMEA session and ties it directly to lesson and rehearsal planning. Here's an abbreviated podcast version.
